Forecasts show that inflation will range between 32 percent
and 37 percent by the end of next year, said Cristina Rodríguez,
a member of the financial consulting firm Metroeconómica.
During her participation in the event How to draft a budget
for 2009?, organized by the Venezuelan-American Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (Venamcham), the economic expert said
that there will be not only a price increase higher than estimates
for that year, but also a decline in the price of crude. However,
Rodríguez admitted that oil prices will remain high.
She said that the price of oil will average USD 92 per barrel.
This implies a decrease with respect to the average price
of USD 100 in 2008.
